No thumbnails showing up when Import Media

This incredible annoying problem:

How do I know what clip im going to import lol If I cant see the thumbnail

Ok this is wierd. It was some windows process handling thumbnails (and presumably Windows Explorer) that had frozen. I couildnt see any new thumbnails anywhere, in the pictures folder for example. After a while it UNFROZE. Anyone know what could be the culprit? The os is recently reinstalled. Windows 10 64
