No video in preview screen

New to forum- Somehow got to messing around in one of my projects and I think I hit preview on external monitor and no longer
can see my photo clips in preview window, other projects I can see
my photos in preview window, so what ever I did was specific to this
project.
Spent some time trying to figure it out-no luck.

Thanks for help.

If it's specific to that project then you probably haven't changed the preview device. That setting carries over from project to project. Did you mute your video track? If so, it will appear dark grey compared to the other tracks. The mute button is in the track header just to the left of the track.

If the mute or solo button isn't it, and you havent clicked the green box to change the composite mode to multiply, and your composite arrows (parent-child) are pointing the right direction and you havent snatched the top of the photo and dropped the opacity (just drag it back up to fix it)-if it is all the photos then its the slider bar at the front of the track that says level (opacity) which should be at 100%

Then

I would suggest opening up that project, click options - preferences-default all to reset to the original presets

rustier,

I pretty much had tried all the things you had suggest, composite arrows are all the same, etc. Hadn't looked at opacdity, but it was at
100 %. I went back to options and reset all preferences to default and closed out project as they say- no change.

My file is named : All Photos on DVD.vf this file does not show photos.

Another file named : All Photos on DVD.vf.bak does allow me to show the photos with the same pictures in preview window, it does not have the extra 100 that I had put into timeline of the above vf. file.

I think I just might have to take vf.bak photos and redo it with the photos I had put into vf. file, its not alot of extra work but I just can't get this to go.

To all, thanks for looking at this for me but I think I've spent enough time trying to figure it out.

rustier,

Tried one more time to fix, it ended up being what you had said, the comosite for the top track, #1, which I am not using for anything had
its composite checked for multiply,(mask), I guess since all the tracks are for one project it will change timeline.

Must of been going around program and checking and unchecking
items to see what they do and forgot to uncheck it.

After posting this I will go back and try and learn what the heck multiply (mask) does.

rustier, you saved me some time, thanks.
