No Video Preview

I have an AVI file on my computer, it is 1.7 GIGs in size. I can double click it and view it in WinAMP and Windows Media Player. However, when I load it into Vegas Movie Studio Pro Platimum (ver 9.0b), the video remains black. I cannot preview it nor scrub through it, so it's impossible to add the pans, crops, and zooms I wanted to add...

I can't load it in Magix Movie Editor either, so there must be something wrong with the file, but since I can view it as is, I can't imagine what would/could be wrong with it...

The AVI was output from Adobe Flash CS4, as an uncompressed AVI.

Use a different colorspace on your Flash app when you are exporting. Also, the best idea is to use an intermediate lossless codec to go between apps, not uncompressed. You can install Avid's DNxHD codec to do the job.

Thanx for your response. In some further research I did, I learned Flash has a consistent problem with AVI files in general. SO I exported out as a MOV, and it worked great...
