Why would this need to be done quite frequently? Especially after a defrag? Defrag doesn't change any files. The only time it should be necessary is after you have installed other software that changed some DLL that VV wants. Otherwise, it should never be necessary to un/re install.
Can I just reinstall Vid Cap 30? I can open this program without starting Vegas, and Vegas is working fine.
BTW, I don't have a Vegas disk as I have the downloaded program.
I wish I knew. Just happens. I defrag, no capture, I reinstall, everything works, I live with it. OS=XP. I have not upgraded to 3.0a yet though. I usually wait to see what new bugs are created. No offense to SF intended, it is just the way it is in this business.
I have Windows XP and Vegas 3.0a. I've had the system for a few months. I defrag on a regular basis... everytime I finish a project. I have never had to reinstall Vegas. Works perfectly all the time.
Thank you for all the replys. VV (and VF) has worked perfectly for me since the start, so I was suprised when I had a problem!! (Must of been something I did).
Deef...I changed that setting to 0, and I'm back in business! Less than 24 hours, how great is that customer service? I think it is the dogs b****s?? (is that right?)
