No way to get new activation code

ALL I WANT TO DO IS ACTIVATE SONY MOVIE STUDIO PLATINUM ON A NEW LAPTOP. I thought purchasing software was actually like purchasing software. Magix is unwilling to help. I've gotten the runaround for days now. All I want to do is get a replacement activation code (because I replaced my old laptop) and I can't get one. I keep getting directed by Magix ("Click here for instructions!") to old threads where everyone says it's not possible and they're stuck. This is ridiculous and I will never purchase from Magix or Sony again. Congrats - you may get more $ from someone being forced to buy a replacement product, but you won't get it from me.

@Karen-Fritz You don't say which version of Vegas Movie Studio you have but if it is a version released by Sony Creative Software then this thread refers https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/activation-of-sony-creative-software-era-applications--149297/

If it is a later version, released by Magix, then your activation code should work on your new laptop.

VMS17 was the last version of VMS before it was discontinued nearly five years ago.

@Karen-Fritz I've just noticed your post on the Magix Community forum which redirected you here.

If you are trying to activate a pro Sony version you will have a serial number starting P3-. You are allowed two simultaneous registrations and it's possible that both have been used. Go to your Magix account https://www.magix.com/us/support/my-service-center/ and look for My Products. There you should find your VMS and the two activation slots. Deactivate one, or both, and you should be able to activate your VMS.
