Nobody can help?? Broken Imported Clips.

I have been having a problem capturing 30p Mini DV video clips into Vegas Video 4.0. I have the 4b update installed as well. The captured clips are chopped up into several small clips that vary in size. I don't have this problem when I do an advanced capture with in's and out's, but when I capture 30p footage (60i works fine) the video will be saved to the HD as several clips. The breaks come in the middle of recorded footage where no scene changes have occurred (all one shot). I have set the preferences to 29.97, progressive. It seems to be detecting dropped frames when I capture that way, but non-drop doesn't seem to be an option. My video drive is Fat32 formatted and my primary HD is NTFS. The footage was shot on an XL1. The tapes were new and the timecode is fine. Can anyone help?

It sounds like what I have seen before. VV will "break up" your clip from a digital camera at the point you hit Stop (or pause) while you were recording.

One of the first clips I captured from my Sony Digicam was only like 20 seconds - but I ended up with abunch of little clips. Took me all of 0.2 seconds to figure it was at the exact moment I had hit pause when I was filming.

Hope that helps.

If it is breaking up the clips at the points where you hit stop or pause while filming, it is because you have scene selection option enabled in your capture preferences...try capturing without this option checked and see if it works...

See.... I knew it was something like that - some option that needed to be unchecked! :-)
