Using Vegas 3.0 I was getting noise when playing back my tracks. When you played the tracks in media player there was NO noise indicating that it was somehow caused by the playback "mechanisms". I got a tip that I should change the mode of my Win XP istallation to "Standard PC". I did-problem disappeared.
