noise reduction 2 capture pblm

For some reason, when I try to capture a noise print, instead of the "hairy worm" I get a straight black bar across the bottom of the chart box. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software twice, registering each time with my serial number. I have not been prompted to enter an activation code, which I have in my records from the original installation.

The sample is from a wedding ceremony next to a stream. Lots of background noise over the vows. Mic was on the camera at the back of the audience, of course.

I've done this type of problem before with no problems and have been able to significantly improve the sound.

Sony tech help has not answered my email query after 3 days.

The NR plugin is more awkward to use from inside Vegas than it is from a proper audio editor like Sound Forge, but it can be done.

My guess is that you just aren't hitting Play in Vegas when trying to capture the noiseprint.

Mark - that's just not true at all!

make use of the F12 keyboard short cut to start/stop playback whilst focus is on the plug in window and you're laughing.

(and ctrl + F12 is pause while focused on plugin window).

Thanks, Mark, but that's not the problem. I DO hit PLAY, but I get the black bar instead of the noiseprint. As I said in my post, I've done this many times. It is just since I had to reinstall that I have had the problem.
