Noise reduction does not remove squeal at high sampling rate

I have some raw footage in AVI format with 32,000 hz audio sampling rate. The audio track includes some background buzz from some overhead lights. I'm trying to use the Noise Reduction plug-in to remove it. I have built a preset that removes the noise beautifully when I render and resample to 44,1000 hz. However, if I resample to the DVD rate of 48,000 hz, there is still a high pitched squeal. I have not been able to figure out how to get the plug-in to remove it other than rendering to 44,1000 and then rerendering to 48000 hz.

Can anyone suggest what I might do to get rid of the squeal in one rendering step?

Thank you.

Have you played with Bood/Better/Best/etc in the resamping quality box ?

I believe I had it set to best.

Do you by any chance have a second sound or digital input card installed. I had something similar once when my Multwave Pro was vying to supply a clock signal against my TB Pinnacle, despite the Pinnacle normally being the one. I changed the input device in the record dialogue back to the Pinnacle (although no rec was happeneing at the time) and the problem dissappeared.

This was in SoundForge, but something similar may be happening here.
