Noise Reduction Settings

I have a cassette sitting here for me to enhance. It is a deposition where the mic wasn't plugged in right or something. As a result the voice is very quiet, and there is additional broadband noise than just the usual cheap recording setup tape hiss.

On the one hand, what I'd like to find is a document that thoroughly explains how the NR works, and what exactly all the settings mean. For most of the work I do, the default settings work well. Still it would be nice to know how to experiment to get something that works even better. Perhaps this exists, and I just haven't looked in the right place.

Otoh, if someone has settings they've used for this sort of thing, they're willing to share with me, I'd love to have them.

Getting a accurate "noise print" yields the best results.
On extreamly noisey material I often process two times (or more) with an updated noise print for the second process. Otherwise it gets a "flangy" sound.
