Non DVD-Type behaviour for Blu-Ray?

Is it possible to create menus for Blu-ray discs like those in The Dark Knight? (the menu overlays the playing movie instead of stopping the movie).

Is it possible to overlay graphics during pausing of the movie like they did in Wall-E?

Or is DVDA limited in Blu-ray features to what's possible with DVDs?

No. You are referring to "pop-up" menus and DVDA does not currently support them. Adobe Encore does, but I haven't tried it to see how well it actually works.

As you say, DVDA can only make Blu-ray discs using the same tools it uses for making DVDs.
