i have vegas audio 2.0 and the studiocard 2000. i'm running twin pentium 700MHz processors with
256RAM. i am new to vegas and i have been trying to record from my yamaha piano synth into empty
tracks within the program. i have two midi cables running from my piano into a breakout box. i play
live and hit record in vegas, but i can not get vegas to recognize or record what i play on my keyboard.

can anyone please offer some advice or help? thanks.

The problem you are having is that Vegas does not support
midi as a recording format. The easiest way I have found
to do it is to record your midi using an alternate program,
ie. cakewalk and then save your midi work as a wave and
then import it into vegas and then record your audio tracks.

Hope this helps.

It does not record or playback MIDI.

It records audio.

Plug your Yamaha's audio outputs (or the sound modules
audio outputs) into your audio cards inputs.

You then arm a track in Vegas and set it to record from the
audio cards port to which you connected your synth's audio
ports into.

Record away...
