Not Bluray

Hi,

I have a BluRay burner and have made BluRay disks with success. What I am looking to you experts for is the best rendering for 1080i raw to burn to a regular non HD DVD. I have use rendered videos at AVC 1080i and it looks OK. Would it be better to re-render to SD and then burn to DVD?

Any tips or ideas is appreciated.

If I understand what you are asking, you can burn AVCHD footage to Standard DVD's at high quality, but will be limited to (nominally) less than 15 minutes of play time. Furthermore, the DVDs will only be playable on (certain) BluRay players.

Much discussion in this forum surrounds rendering HD footage to SD format for standard DVD production. While not the ultimate solution, I've put together a "Quick & Dirty" tutorial for creating SD DVDs from 1080i source.
