Not quite OT - support a brother

vicmilt wrote on 12/14/2007, 1:40 PM
All Right !!

Here's a funny video from one of your Vegas brothers.

http://www.youtube.com:80/watch?v=9uvo_vopmoM

Pretty damn funny ( I wish I could get that software!).

But more important - he DID it!

He got off his couch, went out and shot a full story. Beginning, middle and end. With a neat punch line!

So first - click the link and support one of your own kind.
Next - get off your couch and shoot something, too!

Thanks Randy Stewart for a good laugh and a lot of inspiration - you proved "it can be done". Simply, quickly and very well done.

(and I'm certain it was edited in Vegas)

Way to go Randy! I better not show this to my kids or else my daughter will want to use it to keep her brothers off her computer. ;-)

Phunnee. Looks like a touch of Particleillusion was used in there too.

Good. Like it.

And hey, we are shooting. Just finishing a 1 hour doco.

Wow! Thanks much for the support Victor and everyone. Actually, my son (the spy) did the edit (in Vegas Pro 8), music (Cinescore), and helped a lot with direction and lighting. Victor, you would be proud of our lighting...we used your Nano light (when the Spy looked menacingly at the camera in the hallway) and the red filter on the halogen was actually a red plastic dinner plate clipped on the front of the light head...worked great with the dimmer to raise the red light just as the "spy" broke his light stick after entering the office. Thanks for your previous tutorials and your advice for making this short better. We will repost the new version soon.
Thanks again everyone.

Dear V:

I tried that link, but it didn't go anyplace. And yes, I checked it several times for typos.

Bill,
Here's a link to the file on my web site: http://cr-home-videos.com/Spy1MGB.wmv. Strange the YouTube link didn't work for you.
Enjoy.

Thanks Randy, but that didn't work either.

I realize that I'm not the high-tech poster boy of the year, but I did get past eighth grade, and I therefore should be capable of proof reading a stupid link.

If this doesn't stop I'm going back to screen writing. At least the spell check worked.

Bill,
Man, this has me perplexed. Try this...copy (control+C) the below link and paste (control+V) it into your URL address at the top of the page and hit return:
http://cr-home-videos.com/Spy512K.wmv
This is a smaller file size that will play quicker (Windows Media Player). If that doesn't work, I'm the stumped dummy ;-).

TOUCHDOWN!!

Well worth the wait.

What I liked even better than the BBQ was the natural flow of events in contradistinction to the HEY, LOOK AT ME, I'M ACTING types as per Melodrama 101.

Keep pumping. You're already the envy of the Forum.

Thanks for the kind words and very glad it worked. Yes, we are working on an upgrade to this one (based upon Victor Milt's advice) and another script is in the works.
