Not rendering

So I have this project that I've worked on for weeks now, but throughout the project the "Exception" error kept happening and it would shut the project down. I got tired of it since there's no way to fix it, so I tried just rendering what I have.

When I render it it either:
1. Say "an exception has occured". then it shuts down
2. Or it just doesn't do anything. The estimated time keeps going up but nothing is happening. It get to up to 2 hours of estimated time and it doesn't render.

Please how do I fix this. I really don't wanna have to start all over again cause I know it won't be half as good. Plus I don't have the time, the project is due soon. thanks

more info needed about your project's content.

what is the source of your video and it's format? photos? special effects? what settings are you using to render. did i say we need more info?

The videos are from my HDD (hard drive) camera. They're in MOD. files. They are just simple videos. The only special effects would be color correction. I have many other projects with the exact formats and some work just fine.

And yes, It doesn't work any format I try do render it in.

I saw your "crashes too much" thread where you basically asked the same thing. There it was asked that you provide your system configuration. I'll also ask that you share what version of VMS9 that you have. (9 9a 9b etc).

Now that we know what video you're using, we need to know what your editing on and VMS version.

You may have to uninstal/reinstall VMS.

I have a Windows Vista.
1024mb memory
320gb hard drive
4200 dual core processor

I'll look to see where I can find the version.

Has it ever worked for you? That is to say, other projects with same media type have rendered? If it's a problem with this specific project, you could open a second instance of VMS, select all of the contents from your project and paste it into the new one.

Again, uninstall/reinstall may be in order.

So your saying I can just copy stuff from a project and put it on another project? If so that's good because I have many projects for the same movie, and I wouldn't have to render each of them to put it together. Do you just copy the timeline and paste it on the other timeline.

And yes, I tried reinstalling last night and it rendered, thanks again

Yes, copy and paste from one timeline to the other.

Great, I'm glad you got it working.
