"Not Responding"

Frequently, when clicking on something, there is a significant pause, either:
1. it takes perhaps as long as 30 seconds for the video to show the correct frame in the viewer, longer to show the correct thumbnails in the timeline - there is no hourglass or other indicator I can find that indicates it is working on something.
2. "Not Responding" appears in the top windows bar beside "DVD Architect Pro 5.0, sometimes with the entire window going into a white fade.

If I wait long enough, it eventually recovers.

I'm making a DVD of an hour long movie made with Vegas [mpg, 3.64 GB] with a sub menu for 11 chapters & buttons on the main menu for 3 chapters.

Is this normal?

Thanks!

Jaums

The delays do sound rather long, but that would depend upon the spec of your PC. All the other symptoms are what I would expect.

There is a conflict somewhere.

Save frequently.

Then next time you get "Not Responding," kill some processes until it comes back. Whatever you killed before it came back is the conflict. This method is suggested if you are a moderate PC user, though.
