This is probably something really simple I'm missing, I keep adding FX to a video - IE: brightness contrast - film grain.

I adjust the FX to the extremes, but the preview window of my video doesn't show any difference - do I need to render it in order to see the effect?

Like I said - I think I'm missing something very simple.
