nothing will play on screen

I can capture video with no problem, however when I move the clips into the media area and the timeline and click on the play button nothing happens. I did a re-install to no avail. Any suggestions? Thanks

please dont take this the wrong way, but how do you know your capture was good?

what method are you using to capture?

when you say you move the clips into the media area are you saying you are capturing to one file location and then relocating the captured video to another location?

when you say "and the timeline" are you finding the clip in explorer, dragging it onto the timeline - where you can see your video and the sound track below it, and clicking the play button on the timeline - the line with the narrow box to the right that indicates where the cursor is - and the cursor doesnt move? Or does it move across your clip and nothing can been seen in the preview box? Can you see the preview box? if you dont see the preview box press alt 4. What is the preview set to display at the top of the box ? The default is auto I believe.

Can you see the clip on the timeline?
If so, when you click on play does the curser(line) move across the timeline?
If so, can you physically see the preview window?
Is there anything in it or is it just black?
