NTSC-DV captured as PAL

I have captured dozens of clips from my Sony DCR-TRV740 with no problem. This morning, two clips got captured as PAL instead of NTSC video. That is, the information in the .AVI saiid the video was PAL, 25 frames per second, 720x576. Of course, it isn't PAL, so the video played back (by RealPlayer, VirtualDub and SB itself) as chunky colored blocks, and the audio played back slo-o-o-wed down. None of the surrounding clips on the tape were captured this way. Roxio Movie Studio captured the clips OK (though the result was useless because it is DV1, which DB does not recognize as having any sound). I re-captured a few times with the same results.
In the end, I got the clips to capture properly by starting the capture at a TimeCode > 00:00:00. I didn't need the first two or three seconds anyway, so this is fine.
So, has this ever happened to anyone else? Does anyone have a clue what happened?
