Nuisance with Vegas icon on toolbar

Paul-Fierlinger wrote on 1/6/2017, 9:06 AM

I use the toolbar at the bottom of my PC all day long, switching frequently between the three apps I work with the most, but only the Vegas icon sticks to my cursor; not always, but most of the time. Nothing happens when I first click on it and as soon as I move my mouse or pen the icon moves with it. I then have to fool around with it to shake it off and by now it will most likely be in the wrong place. Does anybody have any idea why this is happening?

Which version of windows? Do you mean the Task Bar? Are you using Aero interface?

This tends to happen on laptops, where the pad used instead of the mouse can get stuck, or even produce a click without being told to. Not just to Vegas, to other icons, too. A lot! I’ve had it happening on two different laptops by two different manufacturers. It is annoying, but there’s little you can do.

On a desktop computer with an actual mouse, the mouse may be wearing out (they last about a year or two only) and may need to be replaced.

My mouse is a Wacom tablet mouse which I love because it's uncomplicated and reliable., getting it's power from the tablet and I get my work done with a pen on the same tablet. But it helps to know it happens to others even if there's little I can do about this. But it absolutely never happens to any other icon but the Vegas one (and never happened before MAGIX took over).

Yes, Wacom tablet should be top-notch.

Paul, why not just lock the taskbar? In Windows 10, if the taskbar is locked, shortcuts can be moved around within the taskbar, but not removed from it.

The taskbar is locked and part of the nuisance is that the shortcut can be moved around -- I wish it couldn't.
