NVENC rendering Errors (max rendering threads)

rtbond wrote on 6/28/2020, 1:01 PM

Folks,

I re-encountered the "The System is low on memory" and also a "0x8066000a (message missing)" on render 4k (GoPro Hero 8 Black) using the default Magix HEVC "UHD 2160p 29.97 fps (NVIDIA NVENC)" template. In the past I encountered the Low Memory error caused by having a non-zero Dynamic RAM Preview value (this is documented by others on this forum).

In this case the rendering error appears to have been cleared by changing the "Maximum number of rendering threads" (Preferences/Video) from the default (32) to 28 (I have a 14-core CPU).

Has anyone else seen this rendering threads issue?

I did rendering out 4k footage yest. As per comments here I set Dyn RAM Preview to 0 and CPU threads to 16 and it worked.

It seems weird that you need to tell a piece of software not to try to exceed the maximum threads supported by your CPU (i.e., it cannot figure this out on its own?).
