Nvidia rendering very slow

rcflyer wrote on 12/2/2020, 4:52 PM

I talked about this before but i have learned a few things since. Here's what's going on .. i thought my video card was subpar till i used a different program which proved to confirm that my card is fine ,actually surprisingly fast. no matter what resolution i use my GPU doesn't want to perform when using VMS17 . However, when i switch to my Onboard graphics" intel UHD630" the rendering is much, much faster. i did go into the project settings and made sure Nvidia was selected when rendering . i talked to a 'puter shop today about what was going on and was told that my GTX970 should be much faster . it's a 4 gig card but is still very respectable for being 4-5 years old. i was all set to by a new one till i was told that. so that 's what is going on . i am open to any ideas. many thanks

Update : upgraded my video card to a GTX 1660super 6 gig and still is stop and go while rendering in 4K but it's faster than the onboard GPU by about 25%

1. What drivernumber is used for the Nvidia?
2. What rendertemplate ( evt. customized) did you use?
3. Which Projectsettings were used?
4. Which sourcefiles were used, please the MediaInfo?
5. What is your rendergoal?

That is not what I was asking for.
- In your first movie you choose a wrong template because of the old Sony codec is not able to use the Nvenc option VMS Pl 17. Therefore you have to choose the newer Magix AVC.
- In your second movie all went normal as far as I could see, the NVenc and the QSV are both behaving normal. What is it that you want else?
If you want faster use of your Nvidia, buy a higher version of it.
With me on laptop is takes more time than on desktop because on the desktop I have a newer and faster Nvidia. It's all in my signature and it would be wise for you to do the same with your signature because than we have not to ask you those things any time you have your questions.

Ok, with the rendering issue resolved . I have a software question. No problem but i was wondering if there's anyway to move the play bar from the bottom to like above the time line or is there a way to keep all the play bottons under the preview screen there all the time. With every new project I have to put them back up .

Yes, i have the transport bar with basic stop, play etc but not all buttons untill i add them. This is with every new project. Was hoping to find a way to keep them there by default

Once you checked the "Show Transport Bar" option it is and stays default unless you start the program not with the start pic but by means of an older project.
