A quick question from someone who doesn't understand video cards very well:
My work is trying to spec out a new desktop for video editing with Vegas Pro, and for video card I told then NVidia GeForce RTX 3070 or faster.
They came back with computer specs that includes the NVIDIA RTX A4000. I assume that's a very fast card, but I notice it's not "GeForce," which is the line I'm familiar with. Is this a good card that will work well Vegas Pro 19?

If you can afford the RTX A4000 and you can actually get it .. go for it .. I think the RTX3070 is the better value if you can land one .. Similar cards. Both will do the job. Generally for Vegas, in my opinion, the video card is secondary. Buy the very fastest CPU you can find! I've got a i9-11900K Intel CPU. This has a built in integrated GPU. UHD750. This handles most of my Vegas Projects which means no dedicated GPU at all. Can of worms as you dive into this issue, cost vs performance.
a4000 is rtx3060ti equivalent for processing power, if they're spending that sort of money, and it's an option ask for rtx3090, it's cheaper, much more powerful and 24gig Vram vs 16gig for A4000. The Vram doesn't matter much with Vegas but you need the 24gig in software like Davinci Resolve when working with 6.5K+ resolutions. Cite future project requirements that may require Resolve.
3080 12gig, or 3080ti 12gig for more affordable options
