Object order assignment for graphics

Is there any way to delete the numbered object order assignment for graphics on a DVD architect menu? I want the movie files to remain numbered but I don't understand why the graphics have to have numbered ordered assignments and how, if at all, does that affect the way the media files jump from one to the next while selecting them on the dvd menu?

Westside,

I don't think you can remove the numbers. However, unless the graphic is a menu button or text (with a movie or some other event attached to it), DVD-A will ignore the numbers and treat them as if they aren't there. For example, if you have a graphic or a title and it is assigned the number 3 by DVD-A, when you do a preview (or burn to DVD) DVD-A will go to menu 1, then menu 2, skip #3, and go on to menu 4 and on and on.

I personally see no reason why they have to have numbers assigned to them but it is something you will have to live with for the time being. Maybe they will fix it in the next update?

You might want to see my previous post under "changing media order" to see how to reassign and rearrange object numbers.

Yes thank you. I found the previous thread talking about this.... Sucks hard for me since I have 10 clips per menu and they are all out of whack since I imported the media at different times and rearranged them often!! What use is object order if it has nothing to do with navigation????? I have been sticking up for this program for the last few months but lately it's been getting harder to do......

Thanks....hopefully sometime soon, sf will fix the menu issues.

I have just posted in the above metioned thread an explanation of the object order. To sumarize here, that is the graphical layer, not the navigation order. You can not control the navigation order other then being able to set which button is the default button (the one highlighted when the menu first starts). The navigation order is automatically determined by DVDA, one of the many things is does for us with the intention of making life easier for us, that really just makes it harder or impossible to make it do what WE want. The navigation order is determined by position horizontally and vertically. So if it is not going the way you want, try moving the button you want to be next a little closer to and/or a little more in line with the horizontal and vertical line with, the current button until DVDA thinks that button should be next. Trial and error! I have read that the length of the text associated with a button can confuse DVDA as to which button is closest to it, so keep that in mind.
