Off Centred Button Text Highlighting...

Hi folks,

My project is fine when viewed in preview mode - the highlight fills only the text button, just as I want it to.

However, when burned to DVD the highlight colour that selects the text is markedly off to the right (like a ghosted image or a drop shadow that's too far off).

I'm using DVDAS 4.5, and have text only buttons with 'mask overlay' selected as the 'highlight' option.

Can anybody please point me in the right direction?

Many thanks

Jon.

I found this in the Help menu's troublshooting section:

Button highlights shifted slightly to the right
Some DVD or Blu-ray Disc players may shift the menu highlight slightly to the right when the menu resolution is neither 720x480 (NTSC) or 720x576 (PAL).

The DVD specification is does not prescribe how to handle highlights for menus that are not 720x480 (NTSC) or 720x576 (PAL) — including half-D1 menus. Because inconsistencies exist among players, this is not something that can be fixed by DVD Architect Pro software.

The best solution is to use standard-resolution menus: on the Project Properties or Optimize Disc dialog, set your Project video format to NTSC (720x480), NTSC Widescreen (720x480), PAL (720x576), or PAL Widescreen (720x576).

Thanks mate.

I always look at the help and search previous posts in case the answer is already out there - but I guess I missed that!

Many thanks for taking the time. I think I used 720x576 so I believe you've found the solution.

Cheers

Jon.

sure, no problem. I'd just happened to discover the troubleshooting section myself earlier the same day. Thanks to the help menu authors for including that; I'd not have even tried to figure that one out...:)
