OFF TOPIC Bush humor

BillyBoy wrote on 2/8/2003, 10:30 PM
Not offered to insult any Bush supporters or anyone, and for s they may not like it, but stumbled onto this and had to share but remember I got kind of a weird sense of humor.

WARNING remove all beverages from desk and anything else that could be damaged from uncontrolled laugher before listening. I don't know who did the impersonation of Bush's voice, but it is dead on or maybe electronically generated from bits and pieces of other things he said. This isn't the State of Union as I remember. You may not like what they have Bush say, but it meant as humor... far out humor.

Just for fun!

This is supposed to be the latest popular song in Italy. It is
sung to the tune of "If Your're Happy and You Know It , Clap Your Hands"

IF WE CANNOT FIND OSAMA , BOMB IRAQ
IF THE MARKETS HURT YOUR MAMA, BOMB IRAQ
IF THE TERRORISTS ARE SAUDI AND THE BANK TAKES BACK YOUR AUDI AND THE TV
SHOWS ARE BAWDY, BOMB IRAQ

IF THE CORPORATE SCANDELS GROWIN', BOMB IRAQ
AND THE TIES TO THEM ARE SHOWIN', BOMB IRAQ
IFTHE SMOKIN GUN AIN'T SMOKIN', WE DON'T CARE, AND WE'RE NOT JOKIN' THAT
SADDAM WILL SOON BE CROAKIN, BOMB IRAQ

EVEN IF WE HAVE NO ALLIES, BOMB IRAQ
FROM THE SAND DUNES TO THE VALLEYS, BOMB IRAQ
SO TO HELL WITH THE INSPECTIONS; LET'S LOOK TOUGH FOR THE ELECTIONS
CLOSE YOUR MIND AND TAKE DIRECTIONS, BOMB IRAQ

WHILE THE GLOBE IS SLOWLY WARMING, BOMB IRAQ
YAY! THE CLOUDS OF WAR ARE STORMING, BOMB IRAQ
IF THE OZONE HOLE IS GROWING, SOME THINGS WE PREFER NOT KNOWING, THOUGH
OUR IGNORANCE IS SHOWING, BOMB IRAQ

SO HERE'S ONE FOR DEAR OLE DADDY, BOMB IRAQ
FROM HIS FAVORITE LITTLE LADDIE, BOMB IRAQ
SAYING NO WOULD LOOK LIKE TREASON; IT'S THE HUSSEIN HUNTING SEASON EVEN
IF WE HAVE NO REASON, BOMB IRAQ!!

I think the recording is actually GWB, but it was cut and pasted together from various speeches.

Even if you're a "vast-right-wing-conspiracy" sympathiser like me, it did have me thumping the table. Very funny!

Thanks Billyboy and Debbie for your posts, humour is a good response to political barbarity.

You see what happens---Billyboy states that he just wanted some comic relief---then Debbie posts her highly political anti-American song and now knowbody completes the circle by calling bush a Barbarian---LOL---Well now that Pandora is out of the box-----I voted for Gore but support Bush 100% when it comes to Iraq---Then I live outside NYC. It's amazing how many liberals in NYC support Bush when it comes to Iraq---I wonder why. Peace in our time---didn't Neville Chamberlin say that---

It's like a balloon, isn't it. You pierce one tiny little hole and Poof.

Thanks Debbie, for posting that song. (And BillyBoy too, I suppose. It's just that I don't have RealPlayer, so I haven't heard the thing yet.) The song is very good, very well crafted and yes - very funny. These are times of fear, and good laughs are welcome guests.
Rextilleon, don't confuse criticism with anti-ism. Criticism is the very stuff democracy is made of. If you don't have the one, you don't have the other - goes both ways.

Not my point---my point is that you dont want a technical forum to turn into a political forum----I just found it interesting that Billy Boy posted with a warning and that instantly Debbie chimes in and continues it. By the way, if you think that song is well crafted then heck, you need to listen to some Porter, Lennon-McCarther, Julie Styne etc.

And so is Anthrax--
TorS wrote on 2/10/2003, 10:18 AM
I know Cole Porter, I know Lennon/McCartney even better. To say that their works are "well crafted" would be an insult. Most of it is way beyond mere craftsmanship. Julie Styne I have never even heard of.

I agree on your forum point. But there's hardly an immediate danger of this forum turning into a political one, is there?

No jeopardy of that---

Last night on TV, a U.S. military officer stationed in South Korea was asked how he felt about the demonstrations against the U.S. military there. Pained by the vilifications of people his men were prepared to give their lives for (a full North Korean assault would wipe out the few U.S. forces in days), he literally choked back tears, then defended those demonstrators' right to protest in a free society.

As I watched I couldn't help wondering what type of key light was used, whether the comment was edited from a long interview or was a first response, and--God help me, whether it could be edited better on Vegas.

All I'm going to say is if we can't take a minute to laugh at ourselves or our leaders, then its a pretty sad world. I did say it was off topic in the title didn't I?

Check how many 'helpful' posts (I hope) I made under BillyBoy and the two other names I posted under before that. Of course if I annoy people that much, and you can't skip over topics clearly marked OFF TPOIC I can make it easier and not post at all. Hint.

Was just kiding, of course... LOL!

It is after all a humor post. I think I'm getting punchy finshing up a l o n g project.

Rextillion - the US military aided by the British are preparing to slaughter thousands of people. If you are behind Bush you are behind murder. It's not a question of politics is a question of morality. You mentioned anthrax I guess you believe the US propaganda regarding Iraq 'mobile laboratories' and the like? Please get better informed. Why not try and find out what people like Scott Ritter and Hans Blix are saying? You can start here: "Inspecting Iraq: A Record of the First 40 Days
compiled by the Project on Defense Alternatives, Cambridge, Massachusetts, January 4, 2003"

http://www.comw.org/pda/fulltext/030104inspectiraq.html#1

Do you really think that attacking Iraq will make the World a safer place? How many new terrorist groups will crawl out of the blood and rubble? When the next terrorist attack occurs how many more civil liberties will be destroyed in the name of freedom?

BillyBoy's post was off-topic humour - but many a true word is spoken in jest - just how far removed from reality is that fake Bush speech?

If it wasn't for war, we would not be here. We wouldn't be free. God bless America, President Bush and our Armed Forces! :)

C'mon, gang, let's get back on topic. One side is not going to "convince" the other, and all we're accomplishing is just getting everyone upset. Please, there are other fora for political discourse.

There's a fine line between political humour and propaganda. So fine that 1) many people don't see it and 2) it is easily overstepped.
But in the light of the real propaganda that a warrior nation will try to make us believe no amount of political humour can make up for it.

I've gotten around to finding a PC with RealPlayer and listened to the Bushwacked tape. Lovely!

Saturday nite live skit as shown on CNN the other day says a lot [the one with the protest]. NOT taking sides, not trolling, go here http://cagle.slate.msn.com/ & pick out something to make you chuckle.

No use anyone getting upset when an Alfred E. Nueman approach can be called pragmatic.

rextilleon wrote on 2/11/2003, 11:27 AM
No, the US Military is preparing to liberate the Iraqi people, many of whom (200,000 plus) have been killed by Sadaam Hussein. If I am behind Bush I am not behind murder--that's a huge leap---I guess that millions of AMericans sanction murder. As far as Blix and Ritter go---lets wait until Blix gives his final report to the U.N. on Friday---.Riter is irrelevant----and by the way, there is great controversy surrounding him---There are several former inspectors who disagree with him.

My civil liberties, and the civil liberties of law-abiding Americans have not been trampled on---that's a gross exaggeration. Yes, I do think that toppling Sadaam will make the world a much safer place to live in. The Project on Defense Alternatives is not an exactly an organization that one could call objective. I think I have covered all of your relevant (and some time irrelevant points).
