A friend of mine who is not very computer literate is editing his movie on Vegas 7. He was having trouble with some green screen keying and accepted the help of a student. The student came to my friends place with a laptop to copy the files to take with him. Apparently he loaded VLC Media Player on the machine. Now, when my friend opens Vegas there are numerous files offline which he can not access. These same files will however play in VLC so they are still on his computer.
He has asked my advice as to what to do. I know nothing about VLC but was going to suggest that he just uninstall VLC and that might free up his avi files.
Could someone explain what is going on here or offer suggestions?
As I don't know what else the student did it is possible that VLC is not the problem.
Thanks,
Belker
