Ok, I got dishes to do...

Funny, I can't picture you doing dishes.

Ya man, the good old fashion way on top of that... haha!

"...the good old fashion way..."

You mean a dishwasher where you turned a knob instead of pushing a button?

LOL Mario -- good one!

FuTz wrote on 3/20/2005, 8:05 PM

...and don't forget to pull the knob!

How about a 10 sec. dishwashing vid?

Ok Jay, YOU asked for IT ...

I think someone did one of those (dishwashing vid) with a little girl cleaning the laptop.

Our next contest is gonna be fun. One of our sponsors has been pretty generous, and they don't mind if the contest has to be Vegas-related.
We're trying to decide if it should be a veg file, tutorial, or video contest. Drop me a note if you have suggestions. It won't start til after NAB.
BTW, don't forget to vote in the current contest. There are some killer vids in there. Heck, download em' all, drink a Coke while you watch em. They're fun.

I'd be more attracted by a video contest.
It's fun to watch, there's no "where's the attached files?" incident and concerning tutorials, I like to actually print those and read it somewhere else instead of in front of my computer.
But my guess is that you'll get lots of different opinions.

But, again, like you said, you download all the movies and watch them altogether. Yesss. Funnier than watching TV.
I'm just coming back from AcidPlanet; watched a few "Ronin Riders" and "Karmacoda" vids...fun!
Spot|DSE wrote on 3/20/2005, 9:49 PM
Funnier than TV is right! I've downloaded them all and made a veg that holds em' so I can watch them in sequence on my external. (yeah, a little pixelated but not too bad)
there are about 5-6 that just roll me over and make me almost cry cuz they're so funny. Wish I could say which ones but that wouldn't be fair. However, they're not in the top 3, which sorta surprises me.
Great creativity out there! I hope to see a few more before it's over.

And I'd say it's more interesting to look at final products from different people than watch some techniques that are more than often wonderful but that I will probalby never use very much.
Yes I can be impressed by a cube that's floating in the air and doing infinite tricks on a surrealistic background, but watching a wonderful clip some folk did that rocks the basement or a masterpiece of editing about sports/travel/documentary is more satisfactory to me.
Now, if one gets that cube in the air to make me laugh my guts out, feel guilty about something or anything else that involves a feeling I get from the actual job of editing (ie: i forget about the editing job involved), now we're talking !

In fact, I'd say : *first* the subject, *then* the technique.

Holy... need a break now from thinking and talking so much...

Now why the hell can't I assign the keys Alt+Z to switch Auto Ripple on and off instead of Ctrl+L ?!
Jay Gladwell wrote on 3/21/2005, 2:54 AM

Man, FuTz, you got BIG dishes!

MyST wrote on 3/21/2005, 3:02 AM
You could make a hell of a stir-fry in that thing, FuTz!

Re: Next contest.
My little suggestion to test people's imagination...

A 10 second clip of an INANIMATE OBJECT.
A chair, a table, a box, etc.
Remember the saying... That car looks fast just standing still.
Show us!

Oh and FuTz... put that thing on a trailer and go through a car wash. You'll be done and back home soon enough to see yourself on the news!

Jay: you should see it when I do jambalaya... takes a shovel to stir it.
Not to mention the fights with the "chevrettes" ("shrimps") to get them to jump in...

MyST: now THIS is a good idea !
I already got an object in mind.
And this ain't NO dish...
