Old Media Mgr + V8? New Media Mgr + V7?, etc.

If I install the new media manager, will it appear in V7?

If I do not install the new media manager, will the old one appear in V8?

If I install the new media manager, will it over-write the old version?

Will old MM libraries be auto-converted, or otherwise transfer seamlessly, to the new MM?

So I take it that there are no issues w/ the new Media Manager?

Vegas Pro 8 will only use the version of the Media Manager that shipped with it (v2.3) which uses SQL Server 2005 Express Edition SP2.

However, once v2.3 is installed, Vegas 7 and ACID Pro 6 will also use the latest Media Manager so that your media libraries can be used across multiple applications.

Installing Media Manager v2.3 will upgrade existing installs of v2.2 of the Media Manager. The MSDE 2000 piece (SONY_MEDIAMGR) can than be uninstalled if desired.
