OMG Please Help Me!!!

Ok I'm down to the wire here and need just 2 questions answered.

1. I'm a 3D animator and have individual rendered frames that I want to instert into Vegas video. When I do this they get inserted as individual frames. I want to somehow group them in VV so that they are easier to manage and play at the proper frame rate. Right now they are like 1 second long each frame. I want to avoid making them a avi or mov first.

2. When I'm done everything how do I render the project out as individual frames again? I'm going to burn this on a DVD and I want everything to be uncompressed and look just as good as the original render.

Many thanks to the person(s) that help me with this.

Thanks

Buzzy

Hi Buzzy,

You might try:

File>Import media

Select the first image in the sequence (they need to be numbered sequentially: image1.png, image2.png, etc), check the Import as Sequence box and verify the number of images... click ok.

The sequence will appear in the media-pool. Right click on the icon, select properties, verify 29.97 (if NTSC), and click OK (Do not cancel).

You can then drag the clip into the timeline and edit/composite.

To output, render uncompressed and burn in the format of yer choice.

1. Right, just like MartyH says, use the Still Image Sequence feature in File > Open. It's tricky under XP if it's set so a click equal "open", because you have to select the first file (use a right-click) and then check "Open still image sequence". Then, set your frame rate.

2. Sorry, you'll have to settle for uncompressed AVI; Vegas doesn't export single image sequences. You can write single frames from the Video Preview window, but there's no Render to Image Sequence feature.
