Sounds like fun ...
I'm prepin for shoot next week down in the Fl Keys, A Yacht Rendezvous...
Stan did you ever get my email with the "dorihna" song? just wondering.
I know weddings are low on the totem pole but they pretty much support the habit here. (I can't say pay the bills 'cause I don't do this full time yet, but you get the idea...)
Shooting a wedding tomorrow, fairly long all day affair. Should get home by midnight, then off to do our first ever Bridal Show Sunday morning. I'm kinda looking forward to it, but I also know it will be a hassle. Been interesting getting our "booth" stuff together. Banner, marketing materials, demos, etc.
I have a short talking head video (was going to be more until the interviewee decided that the only day available for taping was 1 freakin day before it has to be done).
So Saturday @1:00 I'm taping and it basically has to be to the client that night... GRRRR.
Anyway - when I am able to pull these short term projects out of the bag for them - then it really *encourages* them to think of me next time :)
Shooting a theatre spot, Cabaret, very fun
and editing a "racin" spot. , extremes indeed. But really want to go fly one of those choppers in that Grazie video.
Actually editing a dual cam shoot instead of working on house projects!
School talent show for gratis, just getting more experienced at editing. It was cute, but I'm sure your source material is much more interesting for my taste, Stan.
Planning on staying up most of the night Friday tinkering with the PC, then sleeping in until my bladder bursts. Then I thought I'd get some outside footage with my new Sony HD HC1. All the tape I got so far has been indoors and it's been nice, but I want to see what this baby will do in some good light. Problem is this time of year in Syracuse everything is covered in snow and there's no color.
I assume Syracuse, NY...I took my FX1 up to Niagra Falls last March, Canadian side. Snow, ice, on the edge of the falls. The footage turned out incredible. Only bad thing was it was overcast, I guess as usual this time of year that far north. The HD footage would have been much better with bright blue skies. Got a little wet due to the wind, also, so beware.
I'm sure there are lots of interesting things to shoot in the snow. I've found my FX1 does it's best stuff in very closeup, detailed shots.
Prepared for sleepless night. Waiting to hear from replicator if I remembered to loop exercise demo video. 1000 DVD run!
Then plan
1)Safety orientation video.
2)Promotional video for NYC Intelligent Community forum.
3)Instructional video for teachers, French/English version. Track down translator and female Francophone narrator.
4) Building gallows IF I didn't remember to loop demo DVD.
Saturday:
1. Tennis tomorrow at 11am.
2. Pick up the office area in the house around 2pm.
3. Do some sound checks on the g2 and samson wireless units around 3pm outside.
4. Clean up my desktop (the screens are almost full!) 4.30pm
5. Work on a Brochure for the state of Tennesse Dept. of Finance and Administration around 6pm.
6. Spend some time with the wife as she gets off work around 7.30pm (Nurse)
Sunday:
1. Church 9am
2. Lunch 12.30pm
3. Relax 1pm
4. Church 6pm
5. Relax 8pm
6. Get mentally prepared to return to the workforce on Monday morning -Periodically throughout the night and while dreaming :{
This is a good weekend off for me and I am taking advantage of it!
Just got a new camera (a used D8 - my first camera) and learning to use it and generally tinkering with taping, capturing, etc.
Also, working on a C++ utility app for work and trying to keep from spending too much on new camera accessories. ;-) Hmmm, as much as I'd like one, do I really need a wide angle lens??? Questions, questions...
Just got back from the 28th annual Big Muddy Film Festival in little Carbondale, Illinois, where I served as one of three jurors. I just watched 68 movies in 3 days! Great festival, great people, great films. Look for our winners at:

It's about midnight and I have just finished putting together a CD of a concert recorded this afternoon. It featured a 100 voice chorale, huge pipe organ and small orchestra.
The recording was straightforward with very few fixes necessary. I used Vegas to record and master, then CD Architect to create the CD. One of my best recordings ever!
Sometimes we forget how great an audio application Vegas can be! Bravo Vegas!
Just been capturing the master tapes from a huge company meeting I was involved with on Thursday/Friday. I streamed it worldwide. Gotta get the edited version up on the web as quickly as possible.
Great project to work on. All of my colleagues in the shared production facility I am in played major roles in the production of the meeting.
It really brought home the capabilities I now have "at my disposal" by working from such a base - instead of my old "home-studio".
Just spent the weekend editing my frist HD project (with a deadline). Which ment I wasn't going to get it done unless I figured out how to take advantage of network rendering. Luckly the final is only about 5 minutes long, but it still takes an hour to render using three fairly fast PC's. I pulled my hair out for three hours Friday night trying to get the network rendering working. It finaly submitted first thing Saturday morning, and I'd still be working on the project had it not.
The project is for a booth display at a trade show. We are going to run the video from a PC and display it on a 37" HD screen.
My wife and I wrapped production on a new baby boy this weekend. Of course it was captured on tape using my VX-2000. Due to some silly new policy at the hospital, I had to run tape from the side of the bed rather than get the full-on shot from the end. Luckily, I brought my semi-fisheye lens and was able to get a semi-watchable video. Otherwise, I would have had a shot of my wife's thigh, which isn't a bad shot, but it kinda wasn't the point.
Kind of neat to see what else was going on in the room, too.
Anyway, wife and baby are healthy, and big brother is adjusting well, with only occasional episodes of masochism (no chocolate milk = run headlong into wall) to get attention.
