One burn per reboot

Using DVD Architect (ver 1.0c) and a Sony DRU-510a burner on WinXp Pro after the burn is completed and the DVD disk is ejected I cannot access the DVD drive. The eject button on the front of the drive does nothing, and the computer will not regain communication with the drive. Reboot, and everything is fine until the next burn is finished. Any ideas?

What other software do you have loaded?

Does DVDA give the Burning Completed message?

What happens if you simply take the DVD out of the drive and gently push the drawer closed and then exit DVDA?

This has been discussed on here before, it's an issue between DVDA and the Sony Burner.

When it locks up, manually push the drawer in.

Open "My Computer"

Right click on your DVD Drive

Select "Eject"

the drive is now accessible again, without restarting.

It's a pain, but hopefully sony or, well, sony, will fix it on one end or the other soon.

Thanks thrillcat.

Your instructions worked as advertised. Better to eject from explorer than to reboot each time.
