Kelly,

That's a super effect. Hope I don't offend by asking if there's anywhere we can download the .veg?

Thanks in anticipation.

Gary, no problems supplying the .veg file. However, it's not entirely generated media. The water ripples are produced with a "bump map" media file, which isn't free. I'll see if i can come up with a generated media version that is somewhat similar.

Kelly,

Very Cool. Now I feel the need to go and play in Vegas.

So the media file can be licensed as stock footage?

I don't mind paying if the cost is reasonable.

TIA

Gary, i've found a slight hitch in Vegas 6's handling of bump & height maps that precludes a generated-media only version of this at the moment. I can probably do it in Vegas 5 though, so i'll give that a try this evening. It won't look anywhere near as good as using the media file though.

I'll contact you off-forum about it.

If you are going to email the veg rather than post I would love to be in that list. Also, if you do succeed in creating that bump map, or something similar, let me know. I would like to study it to see if I can understand how that works. I have the bump map veggie someone made a while ago of the cookie that looked like it was in water with a drop of water falling into it. I'll have to compare it to that.
thanks,
Carson

Kelly,

I'd be interested in obtaining the bumpmap file even if I had to pay for it. Can you get ahold of me and let me know where to buy?

OK, a .veg file of sorts is available ...
http://www.vegasusers.com/vegshare/textdisp?chienworks-water-test-v5

It uses generated media for the ripple effect so it looks rather crude compared to the .wmv file. Also, because of the height map problem i discussed above, you'll have to solo the text track and render it to a new file, then replace the text events on that track with the new file you've created.

Enjoy!
