One more question - VMS17 Platinum - Border around PIP?

I'm not sure if this was present in earlier version of VMS, or the videos I am thinking of were edited in an earlier version of Vegas Pro, but is there a way to add a border around a PIP video?

I use dual cameras, and one of them is placed in the PIP timeline, then place the PIP where I want it. On the PIP event (to the far left of the actual video in the timeline), I add the Vegas Border plugin to the chain, but the border appears around the entire video, not the PIP video.

Is there a way to put the border only around the PIP? This is the effect I am looking for ...

I liked to not answering you because of your former post, but I stroked my heart for a moment for this answer, that is simple : add the FX border at the beginning of the chain at that event.

@anthony-chiappette You need to apply the VEGAS Border FX to the event on the PIP track not the track itself.

Hi Jack, Thank you. I did add it to the event on the PIP track, the border still goes around the whole video. But J-V's reply is correct, I have to move the border BEFORE the PIP in the fx chain. That works like a charm.

I am using the PIP timeline event to dot he PIP, looks like your example is using pan/crop to get the pip effect. Using J-V's suggestion gave me what I was looking for.

@anthony-chiappette Glad you sorted it. Just as a bit of a correction. My image shows the Pan/Crop as the first in the chain because the Pan/Crop is always the first in the chain by default. You don't have to put it there, it gets put there whenever you apply an event FX.😉 My event is on the PIP track.

Oh, I see, Jack. I hadn't tried the effect directly on the video. I was trying to do it on the video event line so it would flow across all the video PIP on that event. For my next video, I am going to try it on the video itself to see how that works.
