Only +R media works

I can only get DVDA to burn to +R media. In fact when I put a -R DVD my drive is not even recognized by DVDA. When I put a +R DVD in the drive it will at least see the drive and allow me to burn a DVD. But, I only get the choice of 2.4x or 8x. The media that I am using is "up to 4x compatible". The burner I'm using is a TDK indi-DVD 8x. This drive is not on the "compatibility chart" but it must be a little bit compatible if it will burn to +R media. Anyone else have a problem similar to this? What can I do? Just wait and see if there will be an update to DVDA? I did a firmware update on my drive already but that did absolutely nothing.

Thanks,
Mark

I feel your pain! Having the same problem. +RW works too. But we really want -RW don't we. Compatible in most component players.

I found that the only way to get the -R media to burn is to use another DVD burning software. I used Roxio to burn the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS files to the -R media. This seemed to work. I guess I will just have to use Vegas to edit, DVDA to prepare, and Roxio to burn. Seems like a lot of work, but until there is some kind of update or something to DVDA this will have to be the procedure.
