Oooh... that's terrible bad! >yikes!<

I like Vegas. I like it a lot.I can't really afford to upgrade to VP9, but I've been working with Pro 8 x64 for a couple of weeks, and it's been stable, but bug-ridden - inability to find media, errors regarding changed audio streams, incorrect aspect ratios - and I thought I'd try the trial version.

It crashes like crazy.
View scops - crash!
Preview the video fx - crash!
Exit application - crash!
Render As... - crash!
Try to run a script - crash!

At every opportunity, VP9 x64 crashes. It could be my system, but why do version 8 and 8.1 work perfectly (aside from the bugs)? Something has changed, but I don't know what.

I'm glad I can't afford to upgrade. VP 9 is one Sony application that has disappointed me.

Probably your system - I haven't had V9 64 bit trial crash more than a couple times - and that was doing things 8.1 wouldn't do either without crashing.

The only thing that is obviously different is that VP9 requires the visual C++ SP1 redistributable.

I keep my system lean, installing the bare minimum of applications... I wonder, though, if it could be related to AAV ColorLab? In another thread I read that some people had issues with it...

Removed the trial and AAV colorlab. Reinstall trial, and everything seems ok.

But, whee has the RENDER AS icon gone from the Customise Toolbar option?!

Its the 5th icon on from the left on the default toolbar

It really had me stumped until I saw that the default icons have changed between versions 8 and 9.

Still getting used to the dark interface.
