Ooops paid too much...

I've been a loyal customer for Vegas since version 3.0. I dutifully updated yesterday paying $249.95 (293.69 inc tax) - only to find out that there is a promotional email keycode that I didn't receive - which meant I would have only paid $199 (233.83 inc Tax)!

I find it strange that I'm probably one of the first to buy Vegas 5.0+DVD and typed in my DVD Arch 1.0 code - but they don't give me the best deal?!

Darn it - I should have stayed calm. Do you think there's much chance of me getting a refund of $60?

Dont feel bad. After talking with a Sony rep yesterday, I was urged to buy VV4+DVD so to help move old products and would be entitled to VV5+DVD2 upgrade free and as it looks, it appears I am going to be made to wait by having to send in my receipt etc... and wait for it in the slow postal mail. Totally unacceptable.

Too late - I've already parted with ($50 too much of) my money yesterday!!!

Call customer service. There was another thread yesterday where a Sony rep said they'd "take care of you." I'm assuming you'll get your $50 back.

Thus far they havent taken care of me. Granted, my situation is different. I just dont see how hard it is for them to take the serial from VV4 and DVDA1 and give me new serials for VV5+DVDA2 instead of making me send in receipts etc... and wait for delivery of product that I should have had when I purchased it yesterday.

EDIT: As of this morning, the fine folks in customer service have resolved my issue and all is well on my end. Now its time to learn everything I can about this awesome software.

Sorry VideoCurmudgeon -- I assumed the link was the one with the keycode -- didn't see that it was from Sony saying "If you purchased Vegas 5 or Vegas+DVD before receiving the promotional email, we will definitely take care of you." -- phew - thanks :-)
