Opacity or transparency Keyframable?

Is there a way to have a clip fade in and out with out using a transition? I would like to keyframe it if possible.

Well, I guess you could use a composite envelope. Have you looked at the different fade types?

Sorry guys I figured it out for what I needed to do. Mouse over the right or left side of clip and with blue triangle and pull down and the opactiy can be faded. But I still dont see how you can have more control over it like say in the middle of a clip

Yea you were write just use a composite envelope and add points. Thanks jet.
