Opacity transition

I wanna make a transition using opacity like that: (first clip) 100% opacity to (second clip) 35% opacity
but i dont wanna this directly, i wanna that slowly, like a fade transition, but using the opacity.
Anyone knows how to do that? i cant do it.

Right click on the track> Insert/Remove Envelope > Composite Level.

The other way is drag down the 'top handle' on the clip, and that makes it half-transparent.

Another way is to insert a transition of your choice (Cross Effect Default is seems the standard cross dissolve), and then right click on the transition part, Insert/Remove Envelope > Transition Progress.
