Reciped: Sound Forge v6.0e and Vegas 4.0c
Ok, I haven't had much time to repro this ,but I'm having 2 seperate issues happening on 2 seperate PC's with "Open copy in Sound Forge" and "Open in Sound Forge".
System 1 problem:
I had assembled about 12 .MP3 files onto one track and was going to make a CD for my wife. I noticed one of the songs was pretty low in level, so I was going to do some quick and dirty mastering, by doing an open copy in Sound Forge and hit it with wavehammer. When I right clicked on the event and did the Open copy in Sound Forge, it opened the file in Sound Forge, but it muted the last 3/4 of the song. So the file looked fine for the first 1/4 and then the other 3/4 was muted out. So I closed the file out within Sound Forge. I didn't do any saving, or make updates to the file. I then closed out Sound Forge and went back to Vegas. The same thing now appeared in Vegas for that event. It played back that way too, where it just cut off. I had to delete that event from the track and the media pool and then import it back into the media pool. When I added it back into the track, the file was back to where it was suppose to be (ie nothing muted). Again, I did the open copy and sound forge and the same thing happened.
System 2 problem:
Today, I thought I would investigate it a little further so that I could send some feedback to Sonic Foundry or see if it was just happening on one PC. So I did a similar thing on another PC of assembling multiple .MP3 files onto one track. I selected one in the middle and did the open copy in Sound Forge. Well, I realized it was defaulted to SF v4.5, at this point but it worked fine. So the original problem happend with SF v6.0e, so I went to the properties menu and select v6.0e as my preferred audio editor. Now I did a open copy in Sound Forge, and it showed that it was rendering the file, but it never launched Sound Forge. I did a "open in Sound Forge" and this time it didn't do any rendering, it basically did nothing. So I went outside of Vegas and launched Sound Forge, and then did a "open copy in Sound Forge", again it showed that it was rendering to sound forge, but nothing opened within Sound Forge. I closed sound Forge again, and went back to vegas and tried the "open copy in sound forge" one more time. This time it did the rendering again, and left me with a "media offline" on the event. So I minimized Vegas and then came back. Now the event was completely muted. I did this same thing to another event, that event came back completely muted.
Some crazy stuff going on. Anyone seeing any similar problems with "Open copy in Sound Forge"?
