open in sound forge doesn't work v12 or 13

i'm running win 8.

both programs. if sf11 is set to run as admin, v12 and 13 say the specified audio editor cannot be opened (sf w/correct path).

if sf11 is NOT set to run as admin i get this window: (i'll shorten)

registration of sf11... requires elevated privileges. if your user account... you will be prompted for admin creds...

after this step, sf11 will be registered for all users. click next or cancel.

i click next, nothing happens. sf doesn't open. if it is already open, no file is passed to it.

anybody see this?

I am running Windows 8.1 x64. No problems here opening Sound forge 11 in either Vegas 12 or 13 (demo, at this point). Vegas 13 automatically assigned the default audio editor to sound forge, but 12 was set to Adobe Audition. Vegas 13 has on it's menu "open in sound forge" while vegas 12 says "open in audio editor", both seem to work fine and pass on the audio to sound forge, although I do get a dialog box asking permission to open sound forge.

I dont have this admin problem you noted, but I did need to login as Administrator and fully setup both programs and register first before they worked. I do have issues having both programs work correctly back and forth still.

I have some random issues if I open copy in Vegas Pro 13 for SF 11. When I close out of SF it cant save the file and send it back to Vegas. It says in use or something. I need to change the file name for it to work then add that as a take in vegas.

Running latest builds, Win 7 x64 Enterprise

I have the same problem Can't open SF Pro 11 in Vegas Pro 13..... Says the same thing your getting. So far Sony has not addressed the issue, I have a lot of sound editing to do in Vegas and now I cant get my work done. Thank again Sony for leaving me hanging. If a Mac wasn't so darn expensive I might try their program.

You may open the Windows Registry editor and remove the Keys under:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\VirtualStore\MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Sony Creative Software\Sound Forge Pro

Make sure it's the CURRENT_USER key thats removed.
Apparenty the registration check for the users is broken in some way.
