Open Letter to SONY

I cant begin to say thank you enough for all the hard work you all have put into Vegas and DVD Architect. While some features may be lacking, overall, this has to be the best moment to be involved in video editing/dvd creation.

Personally, I was terrified with your acquisition of Sonic Foundry and most probably gave you all less of a chance to succeed. Let me be the very first to stand here and admit that I couldnt be more wrong. I happily stand here eating loads of crow (though I prefer crab legs.)

I started a thread not too long ago wondering if SONY would support longtime customers by giving them a price discount on the new versions. SONY has made me very proud and saved me money in the process. Just take a gander at the Adobe forum and you will see users who are upset with Adobe and the nickle and diming of their customers for bug fixes and the reintroduction of features that were in the past versions. Get ready, because a lot of Premiere users are coming your way.

Customer support has been excellent. The forums are informative and educational. The product....top notch.

Once again, thank you.

Patrick

I also appreciate SONY's good faith in keeping Vegas competitive in the NLE market and reasonably priced for existing users. And a big thanks to the guys in Madison for their hard work and "heavy lifting." :-)

Count me in on the positive feedback, too. I've had to contact customer support via phone & email since SONY purchased SoFo. I've received outstanding customer support.
I'm especially impressed with the upgrade deal we got, too. Upgrading from 4 + DVDA to 5+DVDA2 for only $199.00 is greatly appreciated..

Not that I ever doubted that Sony knew what they were doing when they bought SoFo's primary product line they are to be congratulated for following through with that vision.
