Open MPG files Missing Audio ???

When I open an mpg file, all the video is opened, all the audio is "opened" although only a portion of the audio is displayed in the track view. It almost looks as if only 1/2 the audio peaks are generated. When I "play" the movie and audio in this "missing" region I see and here everything. The issue, when I render the movie this section of audio is GONE, no audio at all digital 0.

If I select only a small section of the "missing" audio and render the audio is outputed as expected. It is almost as if there is some limit that is being reached. I have a 36G 15k Cheetah on an U160 SCSI channel, W2K SP2 VV3.0a (latest release).

Any help would be greatful.

I've seen this sort of thing mentioned before. The cause turned out to be that the person cancelled generating the peak file before it had completed, and from then on Vegas only displayed and used the part that had been generated. The solution was to remove the clip from the project (both the timeline and the media pool), find the pesky half-complete .sfk file and delete it, then add the clip to the project again and let the peak file finish being generated.

I dunno if this is what is happening in your case, but it might be worth a try.
