Opening DVD Architect Studio 4.5

Action wrote on 11/25/2008, 9:21 PM
I'm having trouble upgrading from DVD Architect Studio 4 to 4.5. When I go to run it I get...'registration requires Admin privleges. Please run SAS 4.5 from an admin account to complete registration'.

I've tried everything including 'run as current user' while on line for rego, but no go. Followed all the Sony help advice but..? Deleted all cookies, restored to earlier time etc.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Hi,

are you running Vista? If so, "Run as Administrator" would be the correct choice.

Another way would be to restart the computer and to log in into the standard Administrator account. That account will normally be invisible so you've got to enable it beforehand. Here's a link to a description on how to do so.

Cheers

Hi, sorry forgot to include, Win XP is the O/S. Thanks for the Win links tho. Tried again to open 4.5, still blocked by message above.

Tried changing then deleting password...no go. It's a pain.

I had very similar problems, which went away when I re-copied the downloaded file from my internet PC to my work machine. I didn't even have to re-download - something somehow got corrupted or changed in the original thumb-stick transfer, because when I redid it, the installation went fine, without asking all that Administrator nonsense.

Try this, if it doesn't work, try re-downloading.

Thanks Peter tried that but still no go. Somethings blocking it from opening, maybe some Sony cookie, very frustrating.

Will DVD Architect 4.5 run with SVMSP 8d? Might have to try that.

Still can't run 4.5d. I have version 4 installed on the system and it runs fine. I figure I don't have to delete that to open version 4.5d ?

Elsewhere I found someone with a similar problem, his fix seemed to be to delete all his Sony folders delete, download and reinstall all his registered Sony programs. How does this gel with you guys? Thx.
