This is the first time that this has happened ever. Vegaw is stalling at 100% Even on the backup veg. Figured it might be the captured avi but those play in trimmer. What was the cool utility that someone wrote that you could see all media in a veg (and move it - if you wanted)
Do you have TIFFs in the project? Vegas took FOREVER to open one time for whatever reason when I had TIFFs in the project. They weren't that big either.
Hide the media (surround it with a new windows folder) and then load the project. You'll be prompted to find the missing files. If you relink them one at time you should be able to zero in on the culprit.
After you find th problem file you can hide just that, then get rid of the new folder above, then reload your project.
In addition - Vegas tries to load all files in the "Project Media" even if you deleted them from the timeline. This has tripped me up more than once when I deleted the file from the timeline and then deleted the file from the disk. The next time I try to load the veg file, it tries to find the deleted file.
Solution - If you're going to delete the file, click on the "clean media" button on the "Project Media" window after you delete the file from the timeline. Then save the veg file.
