Opening VMS 10 project in VMS 11

I just installed VMS HD Platinum 11 side by side with my previous VMS HD Platinum 10. Installation went without a problem, and the new program opened fine (and looks great). I had started a project with VMS 10, and had only gotten as far as importing AVCHD files (large project with almost 3 hours of video). I opened the VMS 10 project in VMS 11 without a problem, and was able to preview the AVCHD files with a noticeable improvement over what I saw in VMS 10.

My question is....is there any reason NOT to simply open the old project in VMS 11, or should I start a new project in VMS 11 and import the clips into the new program?

If you open the VMS 10 project in VMS 11 and save changes, you probably won't be able to open it in VMS 10 ever again. If you're totally happy with VMS 11, then it's not a problem.

As a habit, I always save with a new name as soon as I open an old project with the intent of reworking or experimenting on it. That way there is no possibility you will errantly save over your old project, especially if you need it to be compatible with a prior version of Vegas!
