I finally figured out today how to download videos from youtube. [No worries, I only plan on using a few seconds from each video and will be compliant with fair use standards – I respect copyright]
Problem – I just noticed all the files I downloaded today have an .webm format (which do play well in my VLC player) . However, Vegas doesn’t seem to like them – meaning it doesn’t even recognize them let alone allow me to put on a time line (I use Vegas Pro 10) - :)
Is there any way around to get Webm files to work on the Vegas time line?
If not, is there an easy way to convert them? And what would be the best way to convert them?
I did try once using my VLC players conversion feature where I changed it to a .wmv but it was horrible quality and overpowering artifacts.
I am really hoping there something I can do in Vegas to get them to show up there in native form. I did download the V8 codec from google but that didn’t seem help anything.
Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!
