When capturing a tape I do not feel a need to capture the entire hour+ from the miniDV tape to one file. A file that runs 4 to 7 minutes would be fine. I have never seen a glitch when combining split captures.
When I have a project fully captured from tape, I like to backup the raw AVIs on to a DVD Rom. Has anyone found an optimal setting that permitts the most backup on a 4.7 GB DVD Rom?What setting do you use in the capture program.
