Optimum Memory Size in Win98 for Vegas Audio 2.0b

What is the optimal memory size for Vegas Audio? I bought
a large amount for my system (512MB), thinking that more
was better. It appears, however, that Vegas is using only
a small portion (About 10%) of this memory.
Will Vegas utilize any memory in the system, or did I
install more than it could use? How can I get it so use
more?

There are a number of factors involved in how much memory you need;
whether you are multitasking frequently, and how big the files you
are working on are couple of important considerations. I doubt
whether anyone can give you an "optimum" size because it varies so
much for each individual situation.

I would not consider 512MB "too much" for an audio workstation, but,
as you've noted, you are probably under utilizing what you have most
of the time ... just consider it there if you need it.

While you can certainly limit the amount of RAM that Windows itself
uses with some configuration parameters, I don't know that you would
be able to force a program to use more than it needs

Be aware that with Win9x and ME installing more than 512MB can cause
some well documented problems.
