Options for cursor

Hi, I'm used to using an older version of Movie Studio and now I see they use a silly hand icon on the timelines. How do I turn this cartoon OFF?!? I want to use a NORMAL arrow, like their program used to use, not this stupid childish hand icon. I need to pin-point spots on the timeline, not GRAB them with an idiotic hand like a stupid children's game.

If I cannot change the cursor back to an adult and normal arrow, can you tell me which finger is supposed to be the point tip on this cursor? I'm assuming it's the middle finger, because that's the only one I want to use when thinking about this program right now.

Thanks.

I think this cursor is set by the OS and not VMS.

The hand is "link select"

The cursor turns into a pointer arrow when you move it to an empty area of the timeline or in the timeline ruler. But you can also change the hand cursor temporarily to an arrow by briefly tapping the Alt key, and it remains an arrow until you click.

Also, depending on what you want to do, you can change the editing tool (icon at bottom of timeline, or Edit > Editing Tool), which will change the cursor shape.

The hand cursor is the standard Windows cursor when it is positioned on something you can drag.

Thanks, but no, it's not "link select". It's not a standard cursor that comes with Windows 10; it comes from VMS. A simple option to turn on or off the 'enhanced' cursors would be nice, that's all I'm saying.

Thanks Ken, but if it was a standard cursor, I should be able to change it within Windows settings, but it's not listed in the current set of cursors or in any of the cursor themes. Thanks for the Alt key tip, that will help!
